Februry 2026 ~ ixöq by the numbers ✨

As we moved through February, we’ve been looking back at 2025 and, like last year, thought it would be fun to share a little snapshot of ixöq by the numbers.

First and foremost I want to acknowledge our artisan partners. They worked diligently to produce over 3000 individual items! 62% of items woven were storage containers (1000 of which were our small desktop cups) & 40% (over 1000) were cestas (including 170 new minis). That is a lot of product and a lot of weaving and a lot of tired hands! And with over 1000 cestas woven, this translates to over 1000 tassels, handmade by another group of women artisans. Every item made contains and passes on the story of the woman making it & they and I are forever indebted to you for continuing to support this work!

Your support is expressed in many ways but the most quantifiable is through purchases and here’s how your purchases shaped the year:

✨ Charms: 29.3% of items sold

Our most-loved category of 2025. Small, joyful, giftable and impossible to stop at just one. We carried over 30 different designs and Shrimp, Corn, Strawberries, Chicken & Cherries were our top 5 sellers.

🧺 Cestas: 22.4%

A close second. Statement-making, heirloom-worthy, and still the heart of ixöq. Even at less than a quarter of retail products sold, cestas make up over 50% of our retail revenue (and about 90% of our wholesale revenue!).

🗂 Catch-alls: 20.2%

Proof that beautiful organization wins. These were a favorite for entry tables, nightstands, as plant pots, and thoughtful gifts.

✏️ Desktop cups: 20.2%

Nearly tied with catch-alls. You made your workspaces, kids play areas, and desktops brighter, and we love that. These were bought in abundance over the holidays - especially those paired with pens, colored pencils, crayons and chocolate!

🪴 Storage baskets: 4.6%

The quiet workhorses. Fewer in number, but mighty in impact around your home. These are available year round and can even be ordered in custom colors to perfect & organize your space.

🌿 Other: 3.3%

Limited drops, experiments, jaspe napkins, a select number of goods we introduced from other vendors, and other special pieces that found their homes.

What we love most about this breakdown? It tells a story. You leaned into pieces that are functional and joyful but also found joy in the little things. Everyday objects that earn their place each day while bringing color and personality into your home.

As we move into 2026, we’re building on what you clearly love with new color combinations, fresh charm designs (yes, more), and thoughtful updates to your favorite designs.

What else is going on for us?

After a snowy few weeks and our annual February trip to Shoppe Object in NYC, we’re feeling reenergized. We debuted fresh designs, new color stories, and thoughtful updates and the response has us excited for the year ahead.

While things have been a little quieter on the retail front, we’ve been busy behind the scenes building out our 2026 market calendar (including a stop in York, PA where we’re officially stretching beyond the DMV). If there’s a seasonal or local market where ixöq would be a great fit, we’d love your ideas.

As we reset the studio & bring on a new hire, hours are still a bit fluid — we will be open most fridays and saturdays in March (except March 7 when I'll be out of town & March 28 for No Kings Day) but you can always shop online or reach out to schedule a personal studio visit. And if you’re along the Arts Walk and see the lights on, come say hello. If we're here the door is always open!

Family Fun Day ~ March 29 10-3

We are also super excited to be hosting Family Fun Day on the Arts Walk along with Takoma Collective. I've been involved with Takoma Collective since it's inception & we've hosted many pop-ups in Takoma Park & a couple in DuPont Circle but this is our first in Brookland. And I can't wait. It's a merging of my two worlds and should be a very fun day full of kids activities, good food & fabulous vendors.
